Principal: Taro Shigenobu
Taro Shigenobu joined Henderson Collegiate in 2013. During his time at Henderson Collegiate, Taro has held numerous positions, such as 8th Grade Science teacher, Grade Level Chair, and Instructional Coach. He then stepped into the role of High School Principal in the fall of 2019. Taro earned his B.A. in Economics and East Asian Studies from Brown University and joined Teach for America in 2013, and is currently working to earn his masters degree from Johns Hopkins University.
Director of Operations: Kianna DayeKianna Daye joined Henderson Collegiate in 2021 with 8+ years of experience in education. Kianna began her time at Henderson Collegiate as Student Information Systems Coordinator and stepped into the Director of Operations role in spring of 2022. Kianna earned her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a dual concentration in Elementary Education and Performing Arts from Johnson C. Smith University. Kianna’s favorite part of working in education is building memorable relationships with students and families!
Our School
Henderson Collegiate High School is a free, college preparatory program that provides students with not only the academic skills and content knowledge they will need for success in college, but also with the character skills and habits that will enable them to persist all the way through college to graduation. Upon high school graduation, all Henderson Collegiate graduates will continue to receive support through the school’s alumni program.
