- A final decision for school cancellation may not be made until 5:00 am. If you see a 2-hour delay or haven’t heard any information regarding Henderson Collegiate the night before, please check in the morning. We try to wait until we receive all information before making a decision.
- A 2-hour delay means that everything has been pushed back exactly 2-hours. School will start at 9:40and buses will run exactly 2-hours late. We are not aligned with Vance County Schools.
- We may have school when weather doesn’t present a safety risk even if Vance County Schools has canceled.
What to do:
- Watch WTVD Channel 11 News or WRAL Channel 5 News for cancellations and delays.
- If inclement weather occurs during the school day, please watch WTVD Channel 11 News or WRAL Channel 5 News for early release times.
- We will also post weather-related announcements on our Facebook page.
What not to do:
- Call the cell phones of teachers, the principal, or the office staff. Please do not call the office phone.
- Assume that the school is closed or delayed without checking the news.
