Human Resources Coordinator

The Henderson Collegiate Human Resources Coordinator is a critical member of the regional team. The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs, and services, including on-boarding and training, teacher certification, employee benefits, employment practices and procedures, and legal compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

Employee Benefits, Compensation & Payroll

  • Design quarterly benefit newsletters to educate our employees about their benefit options.
  • Research and recommend cost-effective benefit programs (wellness, childcare support, gym, housing options, etc.).
  • Develop and manage a system for tracking employee time-off and leave policies.
  • Manage employee compensation updates in conjunction with the Henderson Collegiate operations teams and Executive Director.
  • Review benefits billing process monthly to ensure fiscal accuracy.
  • Coordinate quarterly benefits education seminars with benefits broker and vendors at all Henderson Collegiate locations.
  • Manage special situations including garnishments (e.g. child support, tax levies) and state agency requests (e.g. unemployment, disability, payroll taxes). 

Management & Communication

  • Become Henderson Collegiate’s expert on NC Teacher Certification pathways and support teachers in meeting NC certification requirements.
  • Establish weekly work plan to effectively meet all goals.
  • Ensure that the Henderson Collegiate team & family is well informed about policies, benefits, and credentialing by leveraging a variety of tools (such as Human Resources software and employee records).
  • Provide support and become a resource for all employees. Build and maintain healthy relationships with all employees.
  • Draft HR-related organization wide communications for Executive Director and operations teams.

Policy, Procedure, Data Analysis & Compliance

  • Develop monthly communication/reporting for Recruitment Director, School Leaders, Executive Director, Operations Directors, and Development Directors.
  • Review and analyze data to provide strategic thinking and regional recommendations.
  • Create and revise personnel policies, including handbooks, job descriptions and position descriptions to protect the organization and uphold Henderson Collegiate’s culture and values.
  • Maintain all HR documentation to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and other monitoring requirements.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of all personnel records ensuring compliance with new hire requirements including background checks, employment eligibility verifications, visa renewals, etc.
  • Monitor HR inquiries via email and software management system.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations and conduct and analyze entry and exit interview data.
  • Review and analyze data to provide strategic thinking and regional recommendations.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred: At least 2-3 years of Human Resources experience
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in serving economically disadvantaged populations
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the creativity and versatility to work productively in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to produce high quality work in a dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop productive working relationships with stakeholders across functional and organizational lines
  • Passionate commitment to Henderson Collegiate’s mission and to high standards of excellence

Compensation and Benefits

Salary for this position is very competitive and commensurate with experience. Additionally, Henderson Collegiate offers a full benefits package. Teachers receive a laptop computer and are provided with classroom technology and software.
