School Leadership

Principal: Taro Shigenobu

Taro Shigenobu joined Henderson Collegiate in 2013. During his time at Henderson Collegiate, Taro has held numerous positions, such as 8th Grade Science teacher, Grade Level Chair, and Instructional Coach. He then stepped into the role of High School Principal in the fall of 2019. Taro earned his B.A. in Economics and East Asian Studies from Brown University and joined Teach for America in 2013, and is currently working to earn his masters degree from Johns Hopkins University.

Director of Operations: Nick Cunningham

Nick Cunningham joined the Henderson Collegiate family in 2020 as the Director of Operations, bringing with him over 12 years of experience working in education operations and student success management. After teaching Science at both the middle and high school levels, Nick joined Kaplan Test Prep and Sylvan Learning leading operations at multiple sites. Most recently, as a Director of Campus Operations at Amerigo Education, Nick ran all operations for an international education and boarding program in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Nick obtained his Bachelor’s of Science in Education with an emphasis in Life and Physical Sciences from St. Cloud State University.

Our School

Henderson Collegiate High School is a free, college preparatory program that provides students with not only the academic skills and content knowledge they will need for success in college, but also with the character skills and habits that will enable them to persist all the way through college to graduation. Upon high school graduation, all Henderson Collegiate graduates will continue to receive support through the school’s alumni program.
