School Leadership

Ashley joined Henderson Collegiate in 2011 as a Teach For America corps member teaching 5th grade English/Language Arts.  In 2013, she transitioned into leadership as the 4th and 5th Grade Level Chair and then in 2014 became an Instructional Coach.  This school year she is serving as the Founding Principal at Henderson Collegiate Elementary School.  In addition, Ashley has served as a Curriculum Specialist at Teach For America’s Mississippi Summer Training Institute.  She earned her B.A. from James Madison University in Media Arts and Design with Minors in Humanitarian Affairs and Spanish and earned a Masters of School Administration from N.C. State University.

Director of Operations: Marvin Espinoza

Marvin Espinoza joined the Henderson Collegiate team and family as the Middle School Director of Operations over the summer of 2017. He transitioned to the Elementary School Director of Operations role in February 2018. Marvin earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago and became a lower elementary teacher in Gary, IN through Teach For America.  He taught as an academic interventionist, after school tutor, and 2nd Grade Teacher.  After teaching, he was the data analyst and state-test coordinator for KIPP Indianapolis Public Schools.

Our School

Henderson Collegiate Elementary School is a free, public charter school program that provides students with not only the academic skills and content knowledge they will need for success in college, but also with the character skills and habits that will enable them to persist all the way through college to graduation.
